Lokuthula Lodges FAQS
The region is winning the war against malaria, with a very low incidence of the mosquito-borne disease in the destination. In most of the cases the disease has usually been picked up elsewhere by locals who will have gone outside of Victoria Falls and they become symptomatic when they return.
Over a decade ago the Zimbabwean Government initiated a multi-pronged approach to tackle the disease. It introduced the spraying of homes to kill mosquitoes, the distribution of mosquito nets, as well as educating the community on malaria prevention.
According to health officials there have been no deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Victoria Falls in the past three years.
However, as malaria has not yet been eradicated, visitors to Victoria Falls are advised to continue to take prophylactics.
Despite the main “malaria” months being August to February, prophylactics should be taken throughout the year. It is advisable to wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts in the evening during this period.
We do have mosquitoes in and around the lodges, but various measures are in place to combat against them including a fortnightly fogging programme and providing mosquito nets in the bedrooms.

This will depend on whether one would like adventure, cultural or safari activities however the three must-do activities are:
a) The tour of the Victoria Falls. This gives one a chance to immerse themself in the beauty and splendour of the Falls
b) The sunset cruise. One can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the Zambezi River and the beautiful sunset. If you are lucky, you may see some animals that come to the banks of the river for an evening drink.
c) The Helicopter flight over the Falls. This gives one a chance to see the Falls from an aerial perspective.
d) The Boma – Dinner & Drum Show has over the years firmly established itself as a “must-do” experience in the destination. This legendary dining and entertainment experience offers mouth-watering local cuisine, traditional dances and interactive drumming.

Yes. For each activity that you do that requires a park fee it has to be paid, regardless of how many of those activities you do in a day or during your stay. Unfortunately, there is no day ticket or multi entry ticket for park fees. Park fees can also be paid by credit card, but it is advisable to bring cash in case there are any challenges with the credit card machine.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate offers a complimentary shuttle service, which runs to and from the city centre and the Victoria Falls rainforest at regular intervals throughout the day. The shuttle bus timetable is available at reception. The shuttle service follows a set route and is available to guests staying at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club and Victoria Falls Safari Suites.
It costs US$50 per person for international visitors, US$30 per person for SADC residents (with proof of residence) and US$7 per person for Zimbabwean residents (with proof of residence). These rates are current and subject to change.
The Zimbabwean side has two thirds of the Victoria Falls with 13 of the 16 viewing points. Time permitting, we recommend viewing from both countries as each offers a unique perspective of the Falls. However, in the dry season, particularly from October to early December, it is recommended that you see the falls from the Zimbabwean side, as there is very little water on the Zambian side.
There is a well-equipped private clinic in Victoria Falls. There are also emergency evacuation services available should they be required. We recommend purchasing travel insurance when visiting foreign countries.
The standard cruises are done above the Victoria Falls about 3km away from Falls, and only a view of their spray is visible from the cruise. Boats are not able to go closer as the current is strong.
Only a very small part of the Falls can be seen from the bridge, and it is not a true representation of having seen the Falls. One has to go into the rainforest to truly experience and see the Falls.

Guests who have booked a helicopter flip at the Activities Desk are picked up at the main lodge entrance and transfer to the helipad which is a short 10-minute drive away. After the experience guests are returned to the lodge.
Village Tour FAQS
This is a half day activity, either morning or afternoon, with pick-ups at 9am and 2pm daily from the main Lodge reception area. The village is 20km outside of town and the interaction is roughly an hour and a half.

A certain level of hiking fitness is required for the experience as participants need to walk out of the gorge, a steep climb.

No, guests need to be accompanied by a professional ranger who stays with them in the hide. The activity can be booked at the Activities Desk at the main lodge.
Sundowner time is ideal, as wildlife comes down to the waterhole to drink. It's also a great time to see the resident marabou stork flock fly up into the surrounding trees, ready to roost for the night.
The waterhole is in a wild and free-roaming area, so it's the luck of the draw! Most days impala, warthog, marabou storks and wading birds are sure bets, with buffalo and elephant very likely as the sun sets, sometimes in large herds. Of course where there is prey there are always predators, so the lucky few may see a kill. Crocodiles ambushing buck or warthogs is the most likely, but you never know...

Functions & Events FAQS
Queen Nandi Place is our latest events venue, opened recently. It is a bright, inside-outside configurable space that can accommodate 180 people in a variety of formats, whether for a conference, a wedding or an event. It has its own catering facilities. Additionally there is an amphitheatre outside for concerts, breakaways or special events.
Also on the estate is a smaller conference venue catering to more intimate groups. Finally, there is a boardroom in the main lodge that can be hired.
Victoria Falls Safari Collection does not offer kosher meals prepared on site, as kosher catering requires specialised facilities and rabbinical certification which we do not currently have. We welcome kosher observant guests and provide structured support to ensure their comfort and dining experience Guest Guidelines.
Guests requiring strictly kosher meals are advised to bring their own pre- prepared meals, clearly labelled with:
- Guest name
- Date
- Meal type (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Meals will be stored, reheated, and served by our team with care and respect for kosher handling.
Meals are reheated and served in our restaurants or bars. A cover charge applies per meal to cover service and facility use.

Queen Nandi Place is equipped with indoor seating, presentation equipment, a private deck, and a dedicated kitchen, allowing for seamless event catering.
Depending on the setup, Queen Nandi Place can host up to 180 guests for a conference cinema style, and up to 200 guests for a cocktail-style function.

Zimbabwe has a three-tier visa system – Category A is visa free, Category B requires a visa which can be bought at the point of entry and Category C requires a pre‑arrival e‑Visa.
